Certifications

In terms of quality, supply chain and product certifications, the Rivoira Group operates in full compliance with both mandatory and voluntary standards.

The challenges of the global fruit market require innovation and long-term vision.

Product research

For this reason, the Rivoira Group has developed advanced tools and facilities, such as its in-house experimental orchard, located at Società Agricola Monastero in Dronero. The site covers more than 54 hectares dedicated to apple, kiwifruit, peach and cherry cultivation, with a focus on the selection and evaluation of new varieties.

Variety trials

Currently under evaluation are: 80 apple varieties, 30 cherry varieties, 50 peach and nectarine varieties
sourced from around the world.

Innovation

Over the past twenty years, we have more than tripled the volumes handled without increasing cultivated areas, transforming orchards into true innovation platforms that allow growers to test new varieties with strong prospects of success.

From field to post-harvest

Process innovation

Processes that drive innovation

Rivoira’s research activities go beyond the product itself. We also focus on process innovation, organising experimental programmes that range from the assessment of a small number of plants to fully developed pilot orchards with dedicated protocols.

Innovation in storage

Since 2018, we have operated 16 micro cold-storage chambers with different atmospheres and temperature settings. This tool enables us to simulate the entire supply chain and assess varietal performance during storage and post-harvest phases.

360°

Our technical department works continuously to transfer practical knowledge to growers —from rootstock selection and pollination strategies to crop protection systems— ensuring a comprehensive, 360-degree approach to innovation.
