Samboa® – Three varieties, one shared vision of excellence

Sambóa® is the first proprietary varietal project of the Rivoira Group, for which the company also acts as Global Master Licensee.

An innovative initiative brought to life through three varieties with strong individual identities: Isadora, intense and vibrant; Luiza, crisp and bright; Venice, balanced and juicy.

Together, they represent a new expression of quality, flavour and vision.

Natural ripening, authentic quality

The “Ripe on Tree” certification protocol ensures that every Sambóa® apple is harvested only when perfectly ripe.

This approach naturally preserves aroma, crispness and the overall organoleptic profile, resulting in a rich, well-balanced fruit grown using controlled and sustainable agronomic practices.

Extra sweet

Sambóa gives a name to quality

The Sambóa® project was launched in 1999 through an international collaboration with the research centres EPAGRI (Brazil) and IFO (France).

After ten years of trials in Europe and seven years of field testing, Rivoira recognised the exceptional potential of the new varietal line and, in 2017, signed the agreement for its production, marketing and brand use.

Today, Rivoira acts as Global Master Licensee for the project.

Sambóa® stands out for its naturally glossy appearance, an attractive yellow-red bicolour skin, and a remarkably crisp texture.

Easy to grow and capable of developing colour even in lowland areas, it naturally reaches up to 17° Brix, delivering a sweet, juicy and exceptionally fresh apple.

Thanks to its outstanding storage performance, Sambóa® ensures consistent availability and quality all year round.

The Sambóa® range consists of three “sister” varieties —Luiza, Venice and Isadora— all positioned within the extra sweet segment.

Each variety has its own distinctive character, yet all share the same goal: to offer consumers an apple with a unique flavour, high quality at the moment of consumption, and a sustainable, fully controlled production chain.
